Big Bad Voodoo Daddy Concert Was Wonderful
Entertainment
Staten Island Advance - Sunday, May 14, 2006
How do I describe the sheer joy and exhilaration
that both my wife, Thelma, and I experienced on Friday evening,
April 28, at the Big Bad Voodoo Daddy concert at the College of
Staten Island?
We have been a fan of the band for such a long time and in the past
have traveled many miles to see them in concert. However, Lisa
Reilly, the artistic director at the Center for the Arts at CSI
brought them right into Staten Island and placed them in a setting
comparable with the Lincoln Center Midsummer Night dance events in
Manhattan!
I have been employed at the college as both a full-time architect in
the campus planning office and as an adjunct lecturer for over 20
years, and may I say that I have attended quite a few events.
But far and above any others, we had the absolute most fun at the
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy concert. It was not only the high energy of the
band (they are absolutely the best at what they do and an absolute
class act), but also that it was an interactive social dance show.
In addition, Ms. Reilly's technical staff, headed up by John
Jankowski, did an outstanding professional job in "transforming" the
1P atrium for the evening's event. I would like to applaud them for
bringing this fantastic show to Staten Island and offer Ms. Reilly
and her staff congratulations and encourage them to keep up the
great work.
