Experts to advise students on various programs available

The College of Staten Island will host a financial aid seminar on Feb. 1.

Sponsored by the City University of New York, the seminar will be held during Financial Aid Awareness Month in New York State and will be open to the public.

“We are intensifying our efforts to help current and prospective students learn about the full array of city, state, federal and private financial assistance and scholarships available,” said Chancellor Matthew Goldstein.

Experts from CUNY Office of Financial Aid will advise parents and students on the various programs available. They will also offer tops on completing the Free Application for Federal Student Financial Aid (FAFSA) and New York State/CUNY Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) applications. Special instruction will be given on how to monitor the status of the application after the actual request has been submitted. Many seminars will be offered in Spanish, Chinese and Russian, in addition to English.

Further information is available at www.cuny.edu/financialaid or call (800) CUNY-YES.
